"LONG LOST ROTHSCHILD"

ABOUT THE SONG
Most of us live somewhere between survival and dreaming for more. We feel the weight of bills, the grind of work, and the questions about whether we’ll leave something behind that outlasts us. “Long Lost Rothschild” is my meditation on that tension.
My grandfather (pictured here at his bar mitzvah in 1929) came to America from a family who crossed the ocean hidden in the bottom of a freighter. After my mom was born, he changed his family name so he could get work as a Jew in New York City, and he carried himself with a dignity that felt larger than his circumstances.
I only knew my Grampa Max briefly cuz he died when I was four...but when I look at his story, and at my own mixed heritage, I feel a profound truth: we're all heirs to legacies we can’t always see. Some inherit wealth, others inherit resilience, purpose, and faith in a greater unknown.
The Rothschild name represents levels of power and abundance that most people will never touch. I may not carry their fortune, but I carry the belief that legacy is bigger than just money – it’s the values and the impact we pass on.
This song is my way of reminding myself, and anyone listening, that even if we don’t feel rich in the moment, priceless value runs through our veins.
If purpose were equivalent to money, I'd be on par with the Rothschilds.
Humbly, I submit this song for your consideration in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for the GRAMMY® Awards.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Alexander Star is a performer, songwriter, and recording artist whose career has been defined by impact as much as music. He creates anthems for global brands, teaches songwriting as a tool for healing in schools and foster care programs, and has shared stages from the Super Bowl to the United Nations.
What sets him apart isn’t just the music – it’s the mission behind it. Star calls his approach “dope hope”: art that uplifts without sugarcoating, meets people where they are, and reminds them of their worth. In his own words, "I give hope while bein' dope." Alexander Star's voice carries the joy AND the weight of lived experience, making his work resonate across borders, cultures, generations, and spirits alike.
